Planting day at Wolsingham Primary School, County Durham
November 2011
As part of the celebrations for the centenary of Wolsingham Primary School, Professor David Bellamy attended a special planting day. Pupils chosen from all year groups planted trees in the school grounds.
In total, the Student Council, Eco Warriors, Governors and Parents planted 10 English Oak, 2 Elm and 30 hedgerow plants.
The 10 oaks were sponsored by local accountants, Mitchells Grievson who also helped on the day. Eventually, the children will have planted 100 new plants to celebrate the 100 years since the school opened.
