Planting day at Argyle Primary School, Camden

November 2007

Children aged 8 to 11 at Argyle School in Camden took part in Abbey's competition to design an eco garden.

For taking part, the school has received £500 to use towards educational materials and had 30 trees planted in and around their school by Tree Appeal.

Class teacher Emma Alexandra said "We are very pleased that we took part. The children really enjoyed designing the eco friendly garden and it tied in nicely with a number of subjects across the curriculum. The cash prize will be used for educational materials and is much appreciated. Having trees planted for all to enjoy for years to come is not only an extra added bonus, but good for the environment too"

Visiting the school, Abbey Camden branch manager, Kyle Smilie commented, "It was great to see the children’s garden design and be able to plant trees to celebrate the banks 150th Anniversary – something which we hope will be enjoyed for years to come by all."
