50,000 trees planted this season (well, nearly!)

Planting season 2021/2022 - 49,985 trees, 304 schools

Despite the problems of Covid the 2021/2022 planting season proved to be one of our busiest ever. Thanks to our sponsors we planted 49,985 trees in more than 300 locations, mostly schools but also in a selection of woodland and environmental projects. To these we can add a further 3000 that we planted in Kenya as part of our work with the International Tree Foundation.

We want to send a big thank you to purchasers of our “Plant A Tree” cards who were responsible for sponsoring more than 5000 of our trees this year. On the corporate side we would like to welcome aboard our newest sponsors who include Darlington Building Society with their new Green Regular Saver account and edding who have launched their EcoLine marker - every pen sold contributes 5p to tree planting.

As usual the planting locations have been all around the country including schools in Portsmouth, Paisley, Preston and Pontyclun. Just now we still have a problem sending trees to Northern Ireland but we’re hopeful of finding a solution soon.

We already have applications on file for the 2022/2023 season starting in the autumn. If you are interested in some free trees for your school or other project you can find all the information on how to apply here.

In closing here are some pictures which have been sent in by our busy tree planters.
