Planting day at West Nab with Yorkshire Rose Holidays
August 2024
Representatives of Yorkshire Rose Holidays joined Tree Appeal at West Nab Shooting Lodge to help plant 600 broadleaf trees. This is part of the Yorkshire Rose pledge to plant a tree for everyone who books a coach holiday with them.
“We're up here on the moors above Hudderfield where our team has just finished planting more than 600 trees. It's part of our plan to plant between five and six thousand trees over the next 12 months... Everybody who books a holiday with us will have a tree planted on their behalf and a will receive a certificate saying what kind of tree it is and where it is planted. It's been a great experience and I would recommend it to anybody - a great day out!”
- David Mills - Yorkshire Rose Holidays
The trees were all native British species, grown in the UK and included Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Bird Cherry, Hazel and Crab Apple. These new saplings will provide a perfect habitat for wildlife, promoting biodiversity and preserving the natural environment. The Yorkshire Rose team gained hands-on experience of how trees are planted and learned how important trees are to the world in which we live.
