Yorkshire Rose planting day at West NabYorkshire Rose launches their Eco‑Coach tree planting initiative

August 2024

On August 25th, the Tree Appeal team had the privilege of attending the Yorkshire Rose Holidays' annual open day. Each year, David Mills, the owner of Yorkshire Rose Holidays, invites his loyal customers to a fun-filled day as a token of appreciation. This year, guests enjoyed complimentary refreshments, including a delicious hog roast lunch, and were entertained by talented local performers.

David is deeply committed to supporting various charities and local market traders. He is also an active volunteer with the Yorkshire Lowland Search & Rescue, which had a stand at the event to raise awareness about their important work.

This year's event was particularly significant as it marked the launch of David's Eco-Coach initiative. He invited Tree Appeal to the event to explain this new eco-friendly program to his customers.

Tree planting certificateYorkshire Rose Holidays has pledged to plant a UK native broadleaf tree for every customer who travels on their coaches. At the end of each journey, passengers will receive a tree certificate with a unique code. By entering this code on the Tree Appeal partner page, they can learn about the type of tree planted and its location.

This initiative ensures that for every 20 miles a Yorkshire Rose coach travels, a tree is planted. This commitment goes beyond merely offsetting the unavoidable carbon emissions from the coaches. Since trees provide many environmental benefits beyond carbon sequestration, David’s company, with the support of its customers, is helping to create an eco-legacy that will endure for centuries.
